Getting Here

Transportation to Timberdoodle Lodge

We'll help you plan how to get here from anywhere.

By Car

Most guests arrive by car. See our directions page for turn-by-turn instructions from major entry points. Winter note: 4WD or AWD is strongly recommended December–March.

By Air

Sawyer International Airport (MQT)

Marquette, MI. Daily service from Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis. Rental cars available. 50-minute drive to the lodge.

Delta County Airport (ESC)

Escanaba, MI. Limited daily service, usually from Detroit. Rental cars available. 25-minute drive to the lodge.

Green Bay Austin Straubel (GRB)

Green Bay, WI. More flight options, cheaper flights. 2 hour 15 minute drive to the lodge.

Airport Shuttles

We can arrange airport pickup from any of the above airports with advance notice. Shuttle service is contracted to a local provider and billed to your reservation. Call (906) 573-2456 to arrange.

Group Transportation for Weddings

For wedding parties and large groups, we can coordinate:

  • Charter bus pickup from Green Bay, Marquette, or other UP airports
  • Multi-vehicle shuttle service for guest arrivals/departures
  • Rental car coordination at Sawyer (MQT) or Delta County (ESC)
  • Vans or SUVs for in-weekend transportation around the property and local towns

Winter Travel

UP winters are serious. Snow tires or chains are advisable December through March. Weather and road closures occasionally happen; we'll help you plan around them. Our 4-mile approach road is plowed daily during business hours in winter.

By Snowmobile

Many winter guests arrive by snowmobile. Trail 7 passes within 1 mile of the lodge; a short connector trail (unmarked but direct) reaches our property. We have sled parking and a plug-in warming station.
